Fighting for the Rights of ATV Accident Victims

All Terrain Vehicles, or ATV's, are extremely popular recreational vehicles in the United States, and it appears that this popularity is growing. While ATV's can be exciting and have grown in prevalence to the point where an entire subculture has formed in the United States, the reality is that they are also very dangerous and present a degree of risk with each ride.

While ATV accidents continue to occur at a higher rate every year, as you'll see below, many who have suffered as a result of them are not sure where to turn for help. If this includes you or someone you love, your best immediate course of action is to contact the ATV accident lawyers at Parilman & Associates today to schedule a free initial consultation.

Below is an overview of the ATV accident issue in the United States.

    ATV Accident Statistics

According to ATVSafety.gov, a governmental Web site dedicated to promoting ATV safety, the following troubling growth trends exist in the United States so far in the 21st Century:
    1. 2000 - 451 reported ATV deaths and 92,200 emergency room visits.
    2. 2001 - 517 reported ATV deaths and 110,200 emergency room visits.
    3. 2002 - 548 reported ATV deaths and 113,900 emergency room visits.
    4. 2003 - 655 reported ATV deaths and 125,500 emergency room visits.
    5. 2004 - 760 reported ATV deaths and 136,100 emergency room visits.
    6. 2005 - 804 reported ATV deaths and 136,700 emergency room visits.
    7. 2006 - 750 reported ATV deaths and 146,600 emergency room visits.
No statistics are yet available for 2007, but the statistical trend speaks for itself - ATV accidents are on the rise, as are the number of deaths and serious injuries that result.

    Additional Questions

When the issue of ATV accidents is broken down to the individual level, several questions remain in the aftermath of a crash. For instance, those without legal training may not be sure who the proper defendants would be in a legal claim. It could be the ATV manufacturer in a rollover crash or the other driver in a multi-vehicle crash. Another question is whether or not to name the driver as a defendant or someone else if the driver at fault is a minor.

These are just two of the many questions that exist for someone who has been injured in an ATV accident or the loved ones of someone who has been killed. If you need these sorts of specific answers in order to enforce your rights, contact the ATV accident lawyers at Parilman & Associates today to schedule a free initial consultation.
