Actos class action lawsuits and recalls have already been filed in the France, who suggests taking the drug off the United States market. Most recently, December 21, Canada filed a class action lawsuit against the Takeda Pharmacuetical Company and Eli Lilly, who failed to properly research and warn consumers about the high risk of bladder cancer.

Actos is a diabetes prescription medication that increases the body’s sensitivity to insulin. It is amongst the top ten best selling drugs in the United States and generated an estimated $4.3 billion in sales last year.

In June 2011, the FDA issued warnings that consumers who use Actos for more than one year are at high risk for bladder cancer. Since consumer warnings, a number of consumer lawsuits and regulatory actions have increased to help protect U.S. drug users.

Over the past four months numerous law firms have filed a growing number of Actos bladder cancer lawsuits. The lawsuit accuses Takeda and Eli Lilly of failing to sufficiently warn doctors and patients about the high risk of bladder cancer associated with Actos. If you or a loved one has acquired bladder cancer from taking the drug Actos, please do not hesitate to contact Parilman & Associates for any questions, inquiries, and legal assistance.

In many situations when someone is injured, simply obtaining an understanding of what that person’s legal rights and options are goes a long way towards moving towards a plan for resolution of the matter. Therefore, when people come to see the consumer advocate lawyers at Parilman & Associates because they have been injured, their initial consultation is free of charge.
